About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your academic learning to real-world practice while preparing for a future Pharmacist role. Under the direction of a preceptor, you will complete a comprehensive training roadmap, including Key Learning Experiences, to gain an overview of pharmacy operations. This role focuses on supporting the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly and patients receive safe, accurate, and compassionate care.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacy team in daily operations, including prescription fulfillment at production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off stations.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by demonstrating empathy, addressing health questions, and providing compassionate service.
- Comply with all company policies, standard operating procedures, and federal or state regulations to ensure patient safety and data privacy.
- Deliver additional health care services, such as immunizations and point-of-care testing, where allowable by law and supported by required training.
- Maintain inventory, including cycle counts, returns-to-stock, and medication deliveries.
- Communicate with prescribers to clarify prescriptions or facilitate medication changes as permitted by regulation.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment or acceptance into an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure as required by state regulations.
- Ability to maintain focus on tasks over extended periods and pivot quickly between responsibilities to meet patient needs.
- Strong attention to detail, particularly in confirming prescription information and label accuracy.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 20 pounds, and perform repetitive physical tasks like reaching, stooping, and scanning items.
- Proficiency in verbal and written communication to interact effectively with patients and colleagues.

- Location: Coppell, Texas.
- Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Part-time, with requirements for regular attendance including nights and weekends.
- Pay Range: $20.00 - $23.75 per hour.
