About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your pharmacy school education to real-world practice. Under the direction of a preceptor, you will complete a comprehensive training roadmap to gain an overview of store, district, and regional operations. You will work to prepare for your future role as a Pharmacist by gaining hands-on experience and developing clinical skills.
What you'll do#
- Complete a comprehensive training roadmap and participate in Key Learning Experiences.
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure smooth operations and safe, accurate prescription fulfillment.
- Follow all company SOPs at each workstation, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by demonstrating empathy and genuine care.
- Educate patients about the importance of vaccines and refer vaccination questions to the Pharmacist on duty.
- Maintain pharmacy standards by confirming prescription information and label accuracy.
- Assist with basic inventory activities such as putting away deliveries and completing cycle counts.
What you'll need#
- Acceptance into or active enrollment in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- Ability to complete all required training within the designated timeframe.
- Strong attention to detail and focus to ensure safety and accuracy.
- Ability to pivot quickly between tasks and maintain regular, predictable attendance including nights and weekends.
- Proficiency in verbal and written communication to interact with patients and colleagues.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 20 lbs.
