About the role#
Saint Luke's Hospital of Kansas City is hiring a Nursing Intern for the Medical Intermediate Unit. This unit provides care to medical short stay high acuity patients. You will gain experience with a variety of conditions, including heart failure, renal issues, and observation cases. This is a year-round, PRN position.
What you'll do#
- Perform clinical procedures under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse.
- Provide direct and indirect patient care for your assigned patients.
- Assist other health care team members with their duties.
- Complete technical tasks as permitted by your unit competency validation.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a formal nursing school.
- A Certified Nursing Assistant certificate.
- Completion of the SLHS NA internal training program.
- Completion of a fundamentals of care course in nursing school.
- Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association or Red Cross.
