About the role#
Saint Luke’s Hospital of Kansas City is seeking a Nursing Intern for the Renal Transplant Unit. This position is PRN and operates on a year-round, rolling basis. The unit provides care to medical short-stay, high-acuity patients, including those with conditions related to renal health, heart failure, and non-surgical observation.
What you'll do#
- Perform clinical procedures and provide patient care under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse.
- Execute direct and indirect patient care activities.
- Provide support to other members of the health care team.
- Perform technical tasks as permitted by unit competency validation.
- Note that interns are restricted from performing any licensed tasks.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a formal nursing school.
- Possession of a certified nursing assistant certificate.
- Successful completion of the SLHS NA internal training program.
- Completion of a fundamentals of care course in nursing school.
- Current Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association or the Red Cross.
