About the role#
This position is for a Nurse Technician to join our NICU team. You will provide basic patient care and support under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. This role is designed for nursing students who want to gain hands-on clinical experience while completing their degree.
What you'll do#
- Assist with patient admissions, discharges, and transfers.
- Measure, collect, and document patient data like vital signs and weight.
- Help patients with activities of daily living, including hygiene, linen changes, and meals.
- Report any changes in patient condition or behavior to the assigned nurse.
- Assist physicians with examinations, treatments, and special tests.
- Collect and transport specimens to the lab.
- Retrieve and deliver medications as directed.
- Keep patient rooms and nursing stations clean and organized.
- Participate in quality improvement programs and follow institutional policies.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited Registered Nurse program.
- Junior or Senior standing with a completed Med/Surg clinical rotation.
- Good standing within your nursing program and completion of basic patient skills.
- Current BLS Certification.
- Strong communication, computer, and customer service skills.
- Working knowledge of medical terminology.
