About the role#
As a Student Radiographer, you will work under the guidance and direction of a radiographer to perform diagnostic medical radiographics. This is a full-time, paid position that offers hands-on experience in a hospital setting.
What you'll do#
- Perform radiographic examinations using C-arms, portable, and stationary imaging equipment.
- Develop film and evaluate it for technical quality.
- Transport patients to the radiographic room and prepare the space for procedures.
- Maintain equipment, check supplies, and perform preventative maintenance on a regular schedule.
- Keep work areas clean and orderly, ordering supplies as needed.
- Document evaluation results, treatment plans, and progress reports.
- Follow departmental policies, safety standards, and infection control protocols.
- Participate in educational programs, workshops, and staff meetings.
- Know your scope of limitations and request supervisory assistance when necessary.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a radiology program.
- Ability to pass all required health and screening tests.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, or sit for prolonged periods.
- Capacity to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to perform tasks involving patient transfer, repositioning, and physical care functions.
- Manual dexterity and visual/auditory acuity for handling equipment and instruments.
