About the role#
Raymond James Legal is seeking a current student for a part-time Paralegal/Legal Assistant position during the Spring 2027 semester. You will assist with projects related to general litigation, corporate governance, and regulatory reporting. This role involves following established procedures while using independent judgment to handle tasks of varied complexity. You will resolve routine questions and coordinate with internal partners to gather information.
What you'll do#
- Research and compile information to assist in preparing responses for regulatory authorities.
- Draft standard legal and business communications and prepare legal documents with and without attorney supervision.
- Provide administrative support for entity management and corporate governance processes.
- Perform fact gathering and basic legal research using resources such as LexisNexis and WestLaw.
- Coordinate with internal partners to obtain data for analysis.
- Manage multiple tasks with changing priorities to meet deadlines.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Paralegal Studies or Legal Assistant Studies certificate, associate’s degree, or bachelor’s degree program at an accredited institution.
- Knowledge of fundamental legal concepts, precedents, government regulations, and corporate governance.
- Understanding of banking, finance, and securities industry operations.
- Ability to organize large volumes of documents and prepare routine legal reports.
- Proficiency with standard office equipment and software applications.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and within a team.
- Commitment to maintaining professional discretion, privacy, and confidentiality.
Location & details#
- This is a hybrid position based in Saint Petersburg, Florida.
- The role is part-time, up to 25 hours per week, during the Spring 2027 semester.
- No travel is required for this role.
