About the role#
This position is for a Doctoral Audiology Extern within the Otolaryngology department. You will provide direct patient care and assist with unit coordination under the guidance of an Audiologist. This is a full-time, paid externship opportunity.
What you'll do#
- Provide direct care to patients.
- Assist with non-direct patient care unit coordination.
- Demonstrate competency in clinical skills, including diagnostic audiology testing, hearing aid diagnostics, and pediatric and adult hearing assessments.
- Perform tinnitus evaluations and management as well as hearing aid fitting verification.
- Communicate pertinent patient data accurately.
- Organize and prioritize patient care activities using time management skills.
- Take responsibility for your own professional development.
What you'll need#
- A Bachelor's degree.
- Current enrollment and good standing in a doctoral program for audiology.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Successful completion of Act 34 Criminal Background, Act 33 Child Abuse, and Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting clearances.
