About the role#
The Nurse Extern II - Cardiac role is a student professional position at Abrazo Arrowhead Campus. You will provide individualized, age-specific, and indirect bedside nursing care under the direction of a Registered Nurse. This is a full-time, paid position.
What you'll do#
- Observe, report, and respond to patient needs regarding physical, psychosocial, spiritual, educational, safety, and discharge planning.
- Perform direct patient care activities as directed by a Registered Nurse.
- Recognize early or subtle changes in a patient's condition and report these to the Registered Nurse.
- Transition patient care by reporting status, individual needs, treatment plans, and orders.
- Document vital signs, intake and output, height, weight, and activities of daily living.
- Keep the work environment clean and orderly.
- Organize supplies, track inventory, and store equipment.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a nursing school at the senior level.
- Successful completion of three semesters of nursing school.
- Two letters of recommendation.
- Skills checklist documentation from a nursing instructor.
- CPR certification.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Basic computer skills.
