About the role#
The Nurse Extern position provides clinical experience for nursing students in their senior year. You will work alongside a Registered Nurse in a one-on-one preceptorship to assist with medical-surgical patient care. This role supports the nursing staff in a facility that includes a primary stroke center and a long-term acute care unit.
What you'll do#
- Perform patient care activities to support the medical team.
- Participate in the planning, implementation, observation, and evaluation of patient care.
- Report significant observations to a Registered Nurse.
- Collaborate with members of the multidisciplinary team.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited RN program.
- Successful entry into your senior year of nursing school.
- Commitment to passing all senior courses to remain in the program.
- AHA BLS certification.
