About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to provide essential care and support within a retail pharmacy environment. This role focuses on patient safety, quality assurance, and the management of patient care programs to improve health outcomes. You will contribute to a team culture centered on empathy, compassion, and professional growth.
What you'll do#
- Ensure a safe and effective retail pharmacy work environment.
- Deliver exceptional care to patients, including advising on prescriptions and managing chronic conditions.
- Adopt and manage patient care programs to keep customers and patients healthy.
- Display empathy and compassion for patients, caregivers, and colleagues.
- Facilitate a team culture that promotes caring, energy, and enthusiasm.
- Assist with pharmacy professional practice, regulatory requirements, and inventory management.
- Perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 20 lbs, scanning items, and maintaining mobility for extended periods.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment or acceptance into an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- 0-3 years of relevant work experience.
- Valid intern or technician licensure as required by state guidelines, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to complete all required training within state-mandated timeframes.
- Ability to maintain regular attendance, including nights and weekends.
