About the role#
As a pharmacy intern, you will work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to provide patient care in a retail pharmacy setting. This role involves helping patients manage chronic conditions and ensuring the pharmacy environment remains safe and effective. You will contribute to daily operations while gaining professional experience in a clinical environment.
What you'll do#
- Display empathy and compassion for patients, caregivers, and colleagues.
- Support the management and adoption of patient care programs to maintain customer health.
- Foster a team culture centered on enthusiasm and care.
- Assist with quality assurance, inventory management, and pharmacy workflow.
- Strive to provide patient immunizations once state regulations are met.
- Complete all required training within the specified state guidelines.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- Between 0 and 3 years of relevant work experience.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 20 lbs, and perform tasks requiring finger dexterity.
- Availability to work a schedule that includes nights and weekends.
