About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your academic learning to real-world practice under the direction of a preceptor. This role focuses on gaining hands-on experience in pharmacy operations while preparing for future responsibilities as a pharmacist. You will follow a comprehensive training roadmap that includes Key Learning Experiences (KLEs) and activities designed to provide an overview of store, district, and regional operations.
What you'll do#
- Complete a comprehensive training roadmap focusing on Key Learning Experiences (KLEs).
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure that pharmacy operations run smoothly and prescriptions are filled accurately.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by demonstrating empathy, genuine care, and professional communication.
- Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and company policies regarding patient safety and privacy.
- Deliver additional patient health care services, such as immunizations, as allowed by law and supported by required training.
- Support workflow procedures at various workstations, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment or acceptance into an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure as required by the state.
- Ability to complete all required training within the designated timeframe.
- Strong attention and focus, with the ability to concentrate on tasks over extended periods.
- Ability to confirm prescription information and label accuracy to ensure patient safety.
- Capability to pivot between tasks quickly to meet patient and business needs.
