About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your classroom learning to real-world practice. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to complete a comprehensive training roadmap, gaining an overview of pharmacy operations. This role prepares you for future responsibilities as a Pharmacist while you support the pharmacy team in delivering care to patients.
What you'll do#
- Complete a training roadmap focusing on Key Learning Experiences.
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly and prescriptions are filled safely and accurately.
- Provide caring service to patients, demonstrating empathy in all interactions.
- Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
- Deliver additional patient health care services, such as immunizations, where allowed by law.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment or acceptance into an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- Ability to complete all required training within the designated timeframe.
- Strong attention and focus to concentrate on tasks over extended periods.
- Ability to confirm prescription information and label accuracy to ensure patient safety.
