About the role#
This is a paid, part-time Pharmacy Intern position for Summer 2026. You will apply didactic learning from pharmacy school into real-world practice under the direction of a preceptor. This role involves completing a comprehensive training roadmap to gain hands-on experience in store, district, and regional operations while preparing for future responsibilities as a pharmacist.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly and prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately.
- Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at each workstation, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by demonstrating empathy and genuine care during interactions.
- Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and call to clarify prescriptions or facilitate medication changes where allowed by regulation.
- Complete basic inventory activities such as putting away medication deliveries, cycle counts, and returns-to-stock.
- Maintain focus and pivot quickly between tasks to meet patient and business needs.
What you'll need#
- Acceptance into, or active enrollment in, an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Possession of, or the process of obtaining, valid intern or technician licensure as required.
- Ability to complete all required training within the designated timeframe.
- Ability to confirm prescription information and label accuracy to ensure patient safety.
- Willingness to work a schedule that includes nights and weekends.
