About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your pharmacy school education to real-world practice. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to complete a comprehensive training roadmap. This role provides an overview of store, district, and regional operations while you gain hands-on experience in a retail pharmacy setting.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly and prescriptions are filled safely and accurately.
- Complete a comprehensive training roadmap focusing on Key Learning Experiences.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care.
- Participate in pharmacy workflow procedures, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
- Understand and comply with all federal, state, and local laws, regulations, professional standards, and ethical principles.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or acceptance into an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining one.
- Ability to complete all required training within the designated timeframe.
- Ability to confirm prescription information and label accuracy to ensure patient safety.
- Ability to pivot quickly between tasks to meet patient and business needs.
