About the role#
As a Graduate Pharmacy Intern, you will transition your academic training into real-world practice to prepare for a future Pharmacist role. Under the guidance of your preceptor and District Leader, you will complete a comprehensive training roadmap within 120 days of graduation. This program focuses on store, district, and regional operations, with an emphasis on patient safety, quality assurance, and pharmacy professional standards.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly and prescriptions are filled safely and accurately.
- Follow company standard operating procedures (SOPs) at all pharmacy workstations, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
- Demonstrate empathy and genuine care in all patient interactions, including fielding medical questions and soliciting medical history under pharmacist supervision.
- Support the management and oversight of pharmacy operations as your tenure and readiness increase.
- Complete inventory activities such as cycle counts, returns-to-stock, and processing medication deliveries.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to pharmacy team members while sharing best practices.
- Deliver additional health services, such as immunizations and point-of-care testing, where permitted by law.
What you'll need#
- PharmD graduate of a U.S. accredited program.
- Ability to obtain required pharmacist licensure within 120 days of graduation.
- Valid intern and/or technician licensure as required by state guidelines.
- Ability to concentrate on tasks over extended periods and pivot quickly between responsibilities.
- Strong active listening and verbal communication skills to interact effectively with patients and colleagues.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations for prescription dispensing.
- Physical ability to remain mobile for extended periods, reach, stoop, and lift up to 20 lbs.
