About the role#
As a Graduate Pharmacy Intern, you will transition from didactic learning to real-world pharmacy practice. Under the direction of a preceptor and District Leader, you will complete a comprehensive training roadmap within 120 days of graduation. This role focuses on deepening your understanding of patient safety, quality assurance, and pharmacy operations in preparation for a Pharmacist position.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly and prescriptions are filled safely and accurately.
- Follow company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for patient health management across all workstations, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
- Demonstrate empathy and genuine care in patient interactions, including fielding medical questions and offering counseling under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Support the management and oversight of pharmacy operations, including inventory activities like cycle counts and medication deliveries.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to pharmacy team members and share best practices.
- Deliver patient health care services such as immunizations and point-of-care testing where permitted by law.
What you'll need#
- PharmD graduate of a U.S. accredited program.
- Ability to obtain required pharmacist licensure within 120 days of graduation.
- Must possess valid intern and/or technician licensure as required.
- Ability to concentrate and pivot quickly on tasks to meet patient and business needs.
- Strong active listening and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to use mathematical reasoning for prescription calculations.
- Physical ability to remain mobile for extended periods, reach, bend, and lift up to 20 lbs.
