Pharmacy Intern - Grad

About the role#

As a Graduate Pharmacy Intern, you will transition from your didactic pharmacy education into real-world practice to prepare for a future Pharmacist role. You will work under the direction of a preceptor and District Leader to complete a comprehensive training roadmap within 120 days of graduation. This role focuses on deepening your understanding of pharmacy operations, patient safety, quality assurance, and professional standards.

What you'll do#

• Apply pharmacy school learning to real-world practice to prepare for a Pharmacist role.
• Assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly, including prompt, safe, and accurate prescription fulfillment.
• Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and pharmacy workflow procedures at all workstations, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
• Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy, solving patient problems, and offering immunizations or other services.
• Support management and oversight tasks, including inventory activities, telephonic prescriptions, and coaching team members.
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local laws, as well as company policies regarding patient privacy and controlled substance dispensing.
• If permissible, support immunizations by educating patients, obtaining informed consent, and monitoring for adverse reactions.

What you'll need#

• PharmD graduate of a U.S. accredited program prior to beginning the Post-Graduate Training Program.
• Must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern and/or technician licensure as required.
• Ability to obtain required pharmacist licensure within the required timeframe per state guidelines.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
• Strong communication skills, mathematical reasoning for prescription calculations, and the ability to maintain focus and attention to detail.
• Ability to meet physical demands, including standing for extended periods, reaching, and lifting up to 20 lbs.
