About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your didactic pharmacy education to real-world practice while preparing for future responsibilities as a pharmacist. Under the direction of a preceptor, you will gain hands-on experience through a comprehensive training roadmap, including Key Learning Experiences (KLEs) and exposure to store, district, and regional operations. This role focuses on supporting pharmacy teams to deliver safe, accurate, and empathetic patient care.
What you'll do#
- Complete a comprehensive training roadmap focusing on Key Learning Experiences (KLEs).
- Follow all company standard operating procedures at each workstation to help manage and improve patient health.
- Assist the pharmacy team with operations to ensure a smooth workflow and provide high-quality customer service.
- Ensure safe and accurate prescription fulfillment at all workstations, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by demonstrating empathy, offering immunizations, and solving patient problems.
- Maintain flexibility for scheduling and business needs, including the ability to work in various locations within the market.
- Engage in an inclusive team dynamic and remain receptive to feedback to expand clinical and technical knowledge.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or acceptance into an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it as required.
- Ability to complete all required training within the designated timeframe.
- Ability to pivot quickly between tasks to meet patient and business needs.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with patients and colleagues.
- Ability to perform essential physical functions, including standing for extended periods, reaching, and lifting up to 20 pounds.
