About the role#
This is a part-time, paid Pharmacy Intern position designed to help students bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world practice. Interns work under the direction of a preceptor to complete a comprehensive training roadmap, gaining hands-on experience in pharmacy operations while preparing for future responsibilities as a Pharmacist.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly, including following Standard Operating Procedures at workstations like production, pick-up, and drop-off.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by demonstrating empathy, providing caring service, and resolving patient concerns.
- Educate patients on the importance of vaccines and refer vaccination-related questions to the Pharmacist-on-duty.
- Complete basic inventory activities, such as putting away deliveries and conducting cycle counts, as permitted by law and directed by leadership.
- Support the pharmacy team by accurately fulfilling prescriptions and maintaining a safe, inclusive environment.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or acceptance into an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining one.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work in your home store and travel to other locations across the market to meet business needs.
- A commitment to becoming immunization certified, as providing patient immunizations is an essential function of this role.
