About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your academic learning to real-world practice under the direction of a preceptor. This role focuses on developing your skills in preparation for a future Pharmacist position through a comprehensive training roadmap. You will gain exposure to pharmacy operations while supporting the team in delivering safe, accurate, and compassionate care to patients.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly and prescriptions are filled safely and accurately.
- Follow company standard operating procedures to help pharmacists and technicians manage and improve patient health.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care during interactions at pick-up, drive-thru, and over the phone.
- Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and contact them to clarify prescriptions or facilitate medication changes where allowed.
- Complete basic inventory activities, such as putting away deliveries, cycle counts, and returns-to-stock, as permitted by law.
- Maintain flexibility for scheduling and business needs, including the ability to work nights and weekends.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or acceptance into an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it as required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to complete all required training within the designated timeframe.
- Regular and predictable attendance.
