About the role#
The Aetna/CVS Health Virtual Underwriting Externship is a three-week educational program designed to introduce undergraduate students to the fundamentals of insurance, risk analysis, and pricing strategies. This program serves as a pipeline for future internship and leadership development opportunities. Participants who complete the program receive priority consideration for the 2028 Summer Corporate Underwriting Internship Program.
What you'll do#
- Learn the basics of underwriting, risk analysis, and pricing strategies.
- Engage in interactive virtual sessions led by industry experts.
- Collaborate with peers on case studies to analyze risks and present recommendations.
- Gain insights into career paths within the insurance industry.
- Connect with company leaders, underwriters, and other professionals.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate program (sophomores with a graduation date between December 2028 and May 2029 are preferred).
- Academic background in fields such as Business Administration, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Finance, Marketing, or Operations Management.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Curiosity about the insurance industry and an eagerness to learn.
- Access to a computer with a reliable internet connection for all virtual sessions.
- Availability for all program dates: September 29, 30, October 1, 6, 7, 8, 13, 14, and 15.
Location & details#
- This is a virtual externship program.
- Sessions are held Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. ET.
- This is an unpaid educational experience and is not eligible for pay or benefits.
- Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
