About the role#
Villa of Hope is hiring a Clinical Intern for the Winter 2027 term. This role focuses on providing mental health and substance use treatment for youth and their families in an outpatient setting. You will work on-site in Rochester, New York. This is a paid, full-time internship.
What you'll do#
- Complete intake documentation and initial assessments.
- Provide evidence-based mental health interventions for individual, group, crisis, and family sessions.
- Develop individualized treatment plans and conduct reviews with clients and their families.
- Maintain client records according to OMH, OMIG, and OASAS regulations.
- Coordinate transition planning and discharge summaries.
- Connect clients and families with community-based resources.
- Collaborate with referral sources, community providers, and collateral contacts.
- Contact parents and authorities during emergencies.
- Participate in clinical supervision to build professional skills.
- Practice cultural competency with clients and staff.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelors or Master’s level, license-eligible Social Work or Counseling program.
- Strong oral, written, and interactive communication skills.
- Effective research tactics.
- High level of organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain high standards of confidentiality.
- Professional image and demeanor.
