About the role#
This internship takes place at Journey Home, an intensive group home for adolescents that specializes in trauma informed care. The program provides comprehensive 24-hour support through clinical, nursing, and direct care staff.
What you'll do#
- Receive individual and group supervision throughout your placement.
- Attend weekly clinical meetings, SMART trainings, and clinical groups.
- Help with the daily needs of the clinical department and the program.
- Provide support to students within the milieu and school setting.
- Partner with a Masters-level clinician to perform adjunctive case work for 1-2 clients.
- Facilitate one individual therapy session per week.
- Manage clinical documentation, including progress notes and treatment plans.
What you'll need#
- You are currently working toward a Master’s degree or higher in a mental health field, such as LCSW, LICSW, LMHC, or LMFT.
- You have a clinical interest in working with children and adolescents.
- You possess strong written and oral communication skills.
- Familiarity with trauma informed treatment models is preferred.
- You must pass background and driving record checks.
