About the role#
The Intensive Foster Care Program at Justice Resource Institute provides support to ensure children in foster care receive the services they need to succeed at home, in school, and within their community. This internship offers the opportunity to support this mission while gaining experience in social justice practices and clinical growth under the supervision of licensed staff.
What you'll do#
- Support the program mission by working directly with youth and foster parents.
- Provide individualized services to clients within their own communities.
- Utilize strength-based and needs-driven approaches to care.
- Collaborate with the people served to support their goals.
- Expand your knowledge of social justice practices and evidence-based treatment.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or higher in mental health, social work, human services, or counseling.
- A strong interest in working with children and adolescents.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Familiarity with trauma-informed treatment models is preferred.
- Ability to pass background and driving record checks.
