About the role#

Justice Resource Institute offers internship opportunities at the Children’s Advocacy Center of Bristol County. Interns support children and families affected by abuse through either clinical or non-clinical placements. Clinical interns work within the Healing & Resiliency Program (HARP), while non-clinical interns support families during forensic interview processes. All interns may participate in community outreach, prevention fairs, and training events.

What you'll do#

• Provide individual, family, and group treatment for clinical placements.
• Complete comprehensive assessments, develop clinical formulations, and write treatment plans.
• Facilitate clinical measures for children and parents.
• Assess family needs, provide support, and coordinate community service referrals.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team responsible for investigating reports of abuse.
• Engage in community outreach activities, including tabling events and prevention training.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a Master’s degree program or higher in a mental health field; Bachelor’s degree students may be considered for non-clinical placements.
• Strong interest in working with children and adolescents.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Familiarity with trauma-informed treatment models is preferred.
• Ability to pass background and driving record checks.
