About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your pharmacy school education to real-world practice. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to complete a training roadmap, gaining hands-on experience in store and district operations. This role focuses on developing your skills in preparation for future responsibilities as a pharmacist.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure pharmacy operations run smoothly.
- Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at workstations for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
- Complete basic inventory activities, such as cycle counts and putting away deliveries, as permitted by law.
- Deliver patient health care services, including immunizations and point-of-care testing, where allowable by law and supported by training.
- Comply with all relevant federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and ethical principles.
What you'll need#
- Acceptance into or active enrollment in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- Ability to complete all required training within the designated timeframe.
- Strong attention and focus to concentrate on tasks over extended periods.
- A customer service orientation with a friendly approach to helping others.
