About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your academic learning to real-world practice under the direction of a preceptor. This program provides a comprehensive training roadmap designed to help you gain a thorough overview of store, district, and regional pharmacy operations while preparing for future responsibilities as a pharmacist.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly and prescriptions are filled safely and accurately.
- Complete a comprehensive training roadmap, including Key Learning Experiences and activities with district leadership.
- Follow company Standard Operating Procedures to manage and improve patient health.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care during interactions at pick-up, drive-thru, and over the phone.
- Maintain compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and ethical principles.
- Support immunization services and patient health care services as permitted by law and required training.
- Perform inventory activities such as cycle counts, returns, and processing medication deliveries.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment or acceptance into an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Possession of, or active progress toward obtaining, a valid intern or technician license.
- Ability to complete all required training within the designated timeframe.
- Regular and predictable attendance, including availability to work nights and weekends.
- Ability to concentrate on tasks while pivoting quickly to meet patient and business needs.
- Strong communication skills, including active listening and the ability to interact effectively with patients and colleagues.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including remaining upright for extended periods, reaching, stooping, and lifting up to 20 lbs.
