About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your academic learning to real-world practice while preparing for future responsibilities as a pharmacist. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to complete a comprehensive training roadmap, gaining hands-on experience in store, district, and regional operations. This role focuses on supporting pharmacy teams to ensure safe, accurate, and prompt prescription fulfillment while developing your professional skills.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly and prescriptions are filled safely and accurately.
- Follow company standard operating procedures (SOPs) to help manage and improve patient health.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care during interactions at pick-up, drive-thru, and over the phone.
- Maintain compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and ethical principles.
- Complete a comprehensive training roadmap, including key learning experiences and activities, within the designated timeframe.
What you'll need#
- Acceptance into, or active enrollment in, an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Possession of, or active pursuit of, valid intern and/or technician licensure.
- Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Capacity to concentrate on tasks while pivoting quickly to meet patient and business needs.
- Strong communication and mathematical reasoning skills for pharmacy operations.
