About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your didactic pharmacy education to real-world practice. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to complete a comprehensive training roadmap, gaining experience in store, district, and regional operations. This role prepares you for future responsibilities as a Pharmacist by immersing you in pharmacy workflows and patient care.
What you'll do#
- Complete a comprehensive training roadmap focusing on Key Learning Experiences.
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly and prescriptions are filled accurately.
- Demonstrate empathy and genuine care when interacting with patients.
- Provide personalized service to contribute to positive patient experiences.
- Understand and comply with all relevant federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
- Support pharmacy workflow procedures at production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off stations.
- Maintain focus and pivot quickly between tasks to meet patient and business needs.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in or acceptance into an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- Ability to confirm prescription information and label accuracy to ensure patient safety.
- Strong active listening skills to give full attention to patients and colleagues.
- Ability to work part-time hours, including nights and weekends.
