About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your classroom learning to real-world practice. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to complete a training roadmap that covers pharmacy operations and patient care. This role is designed to prepare you for future responsibilities as a pharmacist.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure pharmacy operations run smoothly and prescriptions are filled accurately.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and care during interactions.
- Complete basic inventory activities, such as putting away deliveries and performing cycle counts.
- Educate patients about the importance of vaccines and refer vaccination questions to the pharmacist.
- Monitor for and respond to adverse reactions while following public health requirements.
- Follow standard operating procedures at all pharmacy workstations, including production, pick-up, and drive-thru.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment or acceptance into an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure as required by state regulations.
- Ability to complete all required training within the designated timeframe.
- Strong focus and the ability to concentrate on tasks over extended periods.
- Proficiency in using math to solve problems, such as calculating medication dosages or day supplies.
- Ability to communicate clearly with patients and colleagues.
Location & details#
- Location: Tempe, Arizona.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Part-time with the ability to work nights and weekends.
- Compensation: $21.25 - $25.00 per hour.
