About the role#
This clinical rotation prepares Physician Associate students for work in ambulatory care settings. Students gain practical experience through patient interaction, specialized training, and exposure to electronic medical records. The program provides insight into clinical operations, insurance procedures, and the application of evidence based guidelines within a modern health care delivery model.
What you'll do#
- Participate in patient care for individuals 18 months and older, covering acute and chronic conditions, women's health exams, and physicals.
- Develop an understanding of how corporate offices support and relate to clinical practice.
- Gain exposure to the daily operations and procedures of an ambulatory care clinic.
- Work alongside preceptors to enhance clinical skills and operational expertise.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Physician Associate program that has an executed Affiliation Agreement with MinuteClinic.
- Verification from program faculty regarding eligibility for a clinical rotation.
- Ability to maintain academic standards throughout the rotation.
- Compliance with all local and federal laws regarding eligibility.
- Full vaccination against COVID-19 or an approved accommodation based on disability, medical condition, or religious belief.
Location & details#
- This is an on-site, unpaid clinical program. It does not provide salary or benefits.
- Clinical rotations are available in Connecticut, District of Columbia, Georgia, Maryland, Minnesota, North Carolina, Nebraska, Nevada, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Texas.
- Schedules are based on the preceptor and may vary week to week, as clinics operate seven days a week.
- Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.
