About the role#
As a Graduate Pharmacy Intern, you will transition your academic learning into real-world practice. You will work under the direction of a preceptor and District Leader to prepare for a future Pharmacist role. This position involves completing a comprehensive training roadmap within 120 days of graduation to deepen your knowledge of pharmacy operations, patient safety, and quality assurance.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly and prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately.
- Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at each workstation, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
- Complete a comprehensive training roadmap within 120 days of graduation to build your knowledge of store, district, and regional operations.
- Provide caring service to patients, including offering immunizations and answering medical questions under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Take telephonic prescriptions and facilitate medication changes where allowed by state regulation.
- Maintain pharmacy records and comply with all federal, state, and local laws regarding controlled substances and patient privacy.
What you'll need#
- PharmD graduate of a U.S. accredited program prior to beginning the program.
- Ability to obtain required pharmacist licensure within the required timeframe per state guidelines.
- Must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern or technician licensure as required.
- Ability to work on-site, including nights and weekends.
- Attention to detail for prescription labeling and accuracy.
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs, remain standing for extended periods, and perform repetitive tasks.
