About the role#
As a Graduate Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your clinical education to real-world practice while preparing for a future Pharmacist role. This program focuses on developing your skills in patient safety, quality assurance, and pharmacy operations. You will work under the direction of a preceptor and District Leader to complete a comprehensive training roadmap within 120 days of graduation.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly and prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately.
- Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at each workstation, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
- Complete a comprehensive training roadmap designed to further your knowledge of store, district, and regional operations.
- Support patient health by offering immunizations and other services, where allowable by law and supported by required training.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local laws, as well as company policies regarding patient privacy and controlled substance dispensing.
- Engage in patient counseling, field medical questions, and solicit medical history information under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Manage inventory activities such as cycle counts, returns-to-stock, and processing medication deliveries.
What you'll need#
- PharmD graduate of a U.S. accredited program prior to beginning the training program.
- Must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern or technician licensure as required by state guidelines.
- Ability to obtain required pharmacist licensure within 120 days of graduation.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with a focus on active listening and empathy.
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations for prescription dispensing.
- Capability to remain mobile and upright for extended periods, and the ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
- Flexibility for scheduling, including nights and weekends, and the ability to travel to various store locations within the market.
