Pharmacy Intern - Grad

About the role#

As a Graduate Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your pharmacy education to real-world practice in preparation for a Pharmacist role. This program focuses on professional development, patient safety, and operational excellence within a retail pharmacy setting. You will work under the direction of a preceptor and District Leader to gain experience in store, district, and regional operations.

What you'll do#

• Assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly and prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately.
• Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at each workstation, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
• Complete a comprehensive training roadmap within 120 days of graduation to deepen your knowledge of pharmacy operations.
• Provide patient care by offering immunizations, answering medical questions, and assisting with patient health history, under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
• Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local laws, including controlled substance dispensing and patient privacy regulations.
• Support pharmacy management activities, such as inventory tasks, cycle counts, and mentoring team members.

What you'll need#

• PharmD graduate of a U.S. accredited program prior to beginning the Post-Graduate Training Program.
• Must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern and/or technician licensure as required.
• Ability to obtain required pharmacist licensure within the required timeframe per state guidelines.
• Ability to perform essential physical functions, including standing for extended periods, lifting up to 20 lbs, and repetitive finger movement for typing and handling medications.
• Strong communication skills, mathematical reasoning, and the ability to focus on detail-oriented tasks.
