About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply didactic learning from pharmacy school into real-world practice to prepare for a future Pharmacist role. Under the direction of a preceptor, you will complete a comprehensive training roadmap designed to provide a firsthand look at pharmacy operations. This role focuses on supporting pharmacy teams to deliver safe, accurate, and caring service while developing your clinical and technical skills.
What you'll do#
- Complete a comprehensive training roadmap, including key learning experiences and activities.
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure pharmacy operations run smoothly and prescriptions are filled safely and accurately.
- Follow all company standard operating procedures at each workstation.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care during interactions at pick-up, drive-thru, and over the phone.
- Deliver additional patient health care services, such as immunizations and point-of-care testing, where allowable by law and supported by training.
- Maintain focus and pivot quickly between tasks to meet patient and business needs.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or acceptance into an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure as required, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- Ability to complete all required training within the designated timeframe.
- Strong attention and focus, with the ability to concentrate on tasks and adjust quickly to changing priorities.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, reach, lift up to 20 lbs, and perform repetitive finger movements.
