About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your didactic learning from pharmacy school into real-world practice. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to complete a comprehensive training roadmap, gaining hands-on experience with store, district, and regional operations. This role is designed to prepare you for future responsibilities as a pharmacist by immersing you in a culture of continuous improvement and patient-focused care.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure that pharmacy operations run smoothly and prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately.
- Complete a comprehensive training roadmap focusing on Key Learning Experiences.
- Provide caring service that exceeds patient expectations by demonstrating empathy and genuine care in all customer interactions.
- Support immunizations, including educating patients and monitoring for adverse reactions, in compliance with state regulations.
- Follow standard operating procedures at each workstation, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
- Maintain inventory and assist with pharmacy workflow to ensure patient safety and privacy.
What you'll need#
- Must be accepted into, or actively enrolled in, an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern or technician licensure as required.
- Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Ability to complete all required training within the designated timeframe.
- Strong attention to detail to confirm prescription information and label accuracy.
- Ability to communicate effectively and solve problems in a team-oriented environment.
