About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern for Fall 2027, you will build upon your didactic learning from pharmacy school to prepare for a future Pharmacist role. Under the direction of a preceptor, you will complete a comprehensive training roadmap designed to deepen your understanding of pharmacy operations, over-the-counter medications, and patient counseling. This is a paid, on-site internship.
What you'll do#
- Complete a comprehensive training roadmap and key learning experiences.
- Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at each workstation, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off, to ensure safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care during interactions.
- Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and professional standards.
- Deliver additional patient health care services, such as immunizations, where allowable by law and supported by training.
- Assist with basic inventory activities, including cycle counts and returns-to-stock.
- Communicate effectively with prescribers to clarify prescriptions or facilitate medication changes when permitted.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- Ability to complete all required training within the designated timeframe.
- Strong attention and focus, with the ability to concentrate on tasks over time.
- Ability to pivot quickly between tasks to meet patient and business needs.
- Proficiency in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Nursing, Public Health, or Health Administration concepts.
