About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your didactic pharmacy education to real-world practice under the direction of a preceptor. This role focuses on developing your professional skills in preparation for a future Pharmacist position. You will gain a comprehensive overview of pharmacy operations while contributing to a high-performing team. This is a part-time, on-site role with a rolling term.
What you'll do#
- Complete a comprehensive training roadmap focusing on Key Learning Experiences (KLEs) to build clinical and operational aptitude.
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly and prescriptions are filled safely and accurately.
- Follow pharmacy workflow procedures across all workstations, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by demonstrating empathy, genuine care, and professional communication.
- Comply with all federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and professional standards regarding patient safety and privacy.
- Perform inventory activities such as cycle counts, returns-to-stock, and managing medication deliveries.
What you'll need#
- Acceptance into, or active enrollment in, an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Possession of, or the process of obtaining, valid intern or technician licensure as required by the state.
- Ability to complete all required training within the designated timeframe.
- Ability to confirm prescription information and label accuracy to ensure patient safety.
- Commitment to regular and predictable attendance, including availability for nights and weekends.
