About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your classroom learning to real-world practice. Working under the direction of a preceptor, you will complete a comprehensive training roadmap designed to prepare you for a future role as a pharmacist. You will gain exposure to store, district, and regional operations while assisting the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly.
What you'll do#
- Complete a comprehensive training roadmap focusing on Key Learning Experiences.
- Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at workstations, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off, to ensure safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
- Assist the pharmacy team in maintaining smooth daily operations.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care during interactions.
- Comply with all relevant federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and professional standards.
- Maintain focus and attention to confirm prescription information and label accuracy.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in or acceptance into an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure as required by the state, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- Ability to complete all required training within the designated timeframe.
- Regular and predictable attendance, including availability for nights and weekends.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to pivot quickly between tasks.
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs and remain mobile for extended periods.
