About the role#
This is a part-time, paid Pharmacy Intern position for Summer 2026. You will apply your didactic pharmacy education into real-world practice under the direction of a preceptor. This program is designed to prepare you for a future Pharmacist role by providing an overview of store, district, and regional operations through a comprehensive training roadmap.
What you'll do#
- Complete a comprehensive training roadmap, including Key Learning Experiences and activities.
- Assist the pharmacy team with daily operations, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off workflows.
- Follow all company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) at each workstation to ensure safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
- Support patient health services, including immunizations, point-of-care testing, and offsite clinics where permitted by law.
- Contribute to patient safety and compliance by confirming prescription information and label accuracy.
- Engage with patients to provide caring service, solve problems, and offer counsel under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Maintain pharmacy inventory through activities such as cycle counts and returns-to-stock.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or acceptance into an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Possession of, or the process of obtaining, valid intern or technician licensure as required.
- Ability to complete all required training within the designated timeframe.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain focus for task completion.
- Ability to pivot quickly between tasks to meet patient and business needs.
- Proficiency in verbal and written communication, including active listening.
- Ability to perform mathematical reasoning for prescription calculations.
- Physical ability to remain mobile for extended periods, lift up to 20 lbs, and perform repetitive tasks.
