Pharmacy Intern

About the role#

As a Pharmacy Intern, you will work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to support the operations of a retail pharmacy. This role focuses on delivering high-quality patient care while gaining professional experience in a clinical setting. You will contribute to a team environment dedicated to improving health outcomes and managing patient care programs.

What you'll do#

• Ensure a safe and effective retail pharmacy work environment.
• Deliver exceptional care to patients and manage patient care programs.
• Demonstrate empathy and compassion when interacting with patients, caregivers, and colleagues.
• Facilitate a team culture that promotes caring, energy, and enthusiasm.
• Assist with pharmacy professional practice, regulatory requirements, quality assurance, and inventory management.
• Strive to provide patient immunizations once state regulations are met.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in or acceptance into an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
• 0-3 years of relevant work experience.
• Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it as required by state guidelines.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to complete all required training within state-mandated timeframes.
• Physical ability to remain upright for extended periods, lift up to 20 lbs, and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity and visual acuity.
• Availability to work a schedule that includes nights and weekends.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is preferred.

• Location: Sterling, Virginia.
• Work Modality: On-site.
• Employment Type: Part-time.
• Compensation: $20.50 - $24.25 per hour.
