Pharmacy Intern

About the role#

As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your didactic pharmacy education to real-world practice under the direction of a preceptor. This role is designed to help you prepare for a future Pharmacist position by completing a comprehensive training roadmap. You will gain hands-on experience in pharmacy operations while contributing to a safe and inclusive environment for patients and colleagues.

What you'll do#

• Assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly and prescriptions are filled accurately and safely.
• Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at all workstations, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
• Contribute to positive patient experiences by demonstrating empathy, genuine care, and effective problem-solving during interactions.
• Support immunization services by educating patients on vaccine importance, documenting information, and monitoring for reactions.
• Identify challenging interactions with patients or colleagues and determine the best course of action.
• Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local laws, as well as company policies regarding patient privacy and safety.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment or acceptance into an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
• Valid intern and/or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it.
• Ability to complete all required training within the designated timeframe.
• Strong attention and focus, with the ability to concentrate on tasks over extended periods.
• A customer-service mindset with a focus on helping others in a friendly and professional manner.
