Pharmacy Intern

About the role#

As a Pharmacy Intern, you will work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to ensure a safe and effective retail pharmacy environment. This role focuses on delivering exceptional patient care, managing patient care programs, and contributing to the overall quality and workflow of the pharmacy. This is a part-time, paid position with a rolling term.

What you'll do#

• Ensure a safe and effective retail pharmacy work environment.
• Manage patient care programs to support patient health.
• Lead with heart by displaying empathy and compassion for patients, customers, and colleagues.
• Facilitate a team culture that promotes energy, enthusiasm, and pride.
• Align team members around the company purpose to support health.
• Perform tasks including patient safety protocols, regulatory compliance, quality assurance, customer service, and inventory management.
• Strive to provide patient immunizations once state regulations are met.
• Maintain regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
• Perform physical tasks such as standing for extended periods, lifting up to 20 lbs, and utilizing finger dexterity for precise movements.

What you'll need#

• Active enrollment in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
• Possession of, or in the process of obtaining, valid intern or technician licensure as required by state guidelines.
• 0-3 years of relevant work experience.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to complete all required training within state guidelines and specified timeframes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is preferred.

• Location: Plainview, New York.
• Work Modality: On-site.
• Employment Type: Part-time.
• Pay Range: $20.75 - $25.25 per hour.
