Pharmacy Intern

About the role#

As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your academic learning to real-world pharmacy practice under the direction of a preceptor. This role is designed to provide hands-on experience across store, district, and regional operations, preparing you for future responsibilities as a pharmacist. You will work as part of a team to ensure pharmacy operations run safely, accurately, and efficiently while delivering compassionate service to patients.

What you'll do#

• Assist the pharmacy team in daily operations to ensure prescriptions are filled promptly and accurately.
• Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at all workstations, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
• Contribute to positive patient experiences by providing empathetic care, fielding questions, and helping resolve patient issues.
• Support immunizations once all state regulations and certification requirements are met.
• Maintain self-awareness and provide in-the-moment coaching to pharmacy team members.
• Complete basic inventory activities, such as processing deliveries, cycle counts, and returns, as directed by pharmacy leadership.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in or acceptance into an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
• Possession of, or active progress toward, valid intern or technician licensure as required.
• Strong ability to concentrate on tasks over extended periods to ensure prescription and label accuracy.
• Mathematical proficiency to solve problems, such as calculating medication dosages.
• Ability to maintain regular attendance, including nights and weekends, and remain mobile for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 20 lbs occasionally and 10 lbs frequently.
