PHARMACY/PHARMCST-INTERN

About the role#

As a Pharmacy Intern, you will support the pharmacy team by providing essential patient care and ensuring the efficient operation of the department. This role offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a retail pharmacy setting, focusing on customer service, medication management, and clinical support under the guidance of a licensed pharmacist.

What you'll do#

• Create a welcoming environment by answering customer questions regarding products throughout the store and department.
• Provide drug counseling to customers and offer recommendations for over-the-counter medications.
• Accurately input patient and prescription information, dispense medications, and process third-party insurance claims.
• Contact prescribers’ offices for authorizations and coordinate with insurance companies as needed.
• Administer immunizations under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
• Manage inventory by checking incoming orders, stocking shelves, and returning unused medication to stock.
• Maintain a clean and safe department, reporting any safety risks, accidents, or incidents to management.
• Assist diverse populations, including minors, older adults, and individuals with special needs.

What you'll need#

• Active enrollment in a US school of pharmacy.
• A current, state-issued Pharmacy Intern license.
• Ability to work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
• Strong commitment to honesty and integrity regarding business and customer information.
• Ability to follow directions, manage conflict professionally, and seek assistance when necessary.
• Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
