About the role#
This 12-week internship provides hands-on experience in construction project engineering. Interns work under the guidance of project managers and construction managers to support capital projects while developing professional skills through direct involvement in facility engineering tasks. The program runs from January 11 to April 23, 2027.
What you'll do#
- Assist project managers with essential job functions, including pre-remodel checklists and drawing documentation.
- Support the execution of the contractor bid process.
- Help track equipment orders and coordinate deliveries to align with construction schedules.
- Manage the completion of minor capital projects and prepare associated estimates.
- Inspect capital projects to ensure compliance with specifications and quality control standards.
- Coordinate reviews of refrigeration, electrical, and mechanical plans with technical staff.
- Assist with project closeout tasks, such as punch lists, as-builts, final invoicing, and filing.
- Participate in department meetings and present a cumulative summary of accomplishments to management.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Architecture, Business Administration, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Construction Management at an accredited college or university.
- Preferred GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Prior experience in a construction environment.
- Ability to take initiative and work effectively both independently and in group settings.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
