About the role#
This 12-week internship offers students hands-on experience in construction project engineering. Working under the guidance of project and construction managers, interns contribute to capital projects while developing professional skills through mentorship and real-world assignments. The program runs from January 11 to April 23, 2027.
What you'll do#
- Assist project managers with essential job functions, including pre-remodel checklists and fixture or refrigeration drawings.
- Support the contractor bid process and participate in weekly job meetings for capital projects.
- Manage equipment orders, track deliveries, and oversee store fixture installations.
- Inspect capital projects to ensure compliance with specifications and quality control standards.
- Review architectural, electrical, and mechanical plans for completeness and adherence to company standards.
- Assist with project closeout tasks, such as punch lists, final invoicing, and filing.
- Complete a cumulative project summarizing internship accomplishments to present to the management team.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program for Construction Management, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or Environmental Engineering, or Architecture.
- A preferred GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Strong motivation and the ability to take initiative on assigned work.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in both group and independent settings.
- Accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to analyze information for business needs.
- Must have work authorization that does not require sponsorship.
