About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will support the pharmacy team in providing exceptional service and maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for customers. This role focuses on delivering quality pharmaceutical care while adhering to company standards and regulatory requirements.
What you'll do#
- Provide drug counseling and assist customers with over-the-counter medication recommendations.
- Accurately input patient and prescription information into the pharmacy system and dispense correct medications.
- Communicate with prescribers for authorizations and insurance companies to resolve coverage issues.
- Accept and interpret oral and written prescriptions for new fills and refills.
- Administer immunizations under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
- Manage inventory by checking incoming orders, stocking shelves, and returning unused stock.
- Maintain a clean department and report any safety risks, accidents, or incidents to management.
- Promote a respectful environment and assist customers, including older adults and individuals with special needs.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in a US school of pharmacy.
- A current state-issued Pharmacy Intern license.
- Ability to work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
- Strong conflict management skills, with the ability to handle situations in a nonconfrontational manner.
- Commitment to honesty and integrity regarding all customer and business information.
- Ability to follow directions and seek assistance when necessary.
