About the role#
The Construction Project Engineer Intern program is a 12-week immersive experience designed to provide hands-on training and mentorship. Interns work alongside project managers and construction managers to support capital projects while gaining exposure to senior leadership. This is a full-time, paid position running from January 11 to April 23, 2027.
What you'll do#
- Assist project managers with essential functions, including pre-remodel checklists and as-built drawings.
- Support the contractor bid process and participate in weekly job meetings.
- Manage equipment orders, track deliveries, and coordinate store fixture installations.
- Assist with project closeout tasks such as punch lists, final invoicing, and filing.
- Inspect capital projects for quality control and compliance with specifications.
- Review architectural plans and coordinate electrical or mechanical plans with technical staff.
- Complete estimates and manage minor capital projects.
- Prepare and present a cumulative project summary to the executive team.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited college or university pursuing a degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, or Construction Management.
- A preferred GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Prior experience in a construction environment.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to work independently or in a team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to analyze technical information and apply it to business needs.
- Must possess work authorization that does not require sponsorship.
