About the role#
As an Electrical Engineer Intern, you will support the construction process by performing design engineering tasks. You will contribute to conceptual designs, review electrical calculations, and develop plans to meet client needs while focusing on construction safety.
What you'll do#
- Review manufacturer wiring drawings, one-line diagrams, schematics, and data sheets.
- Research and analyze requirements from engineering standards, contracts, and proposal documents.
- Prepare basic engineering calculations and drawings according to company standards.
- Draft equipment specifications for major electrical components.
- Perform bid evaluations and coordinate electrical equipment contracts with vendors.
- Manage cable and termination information using plant design software.
- Maintain engineering records and lists.
- Coordinate work with engineers, designers, project managers, and construction personnel.
- Build familiarity with design standards, engineering codes, and company policies.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited institution.
- Good academic standing, with a cumulative GPA above 3.0 preferred.
- Junior or senior standing is preferred.
- Interest in power systems engineering.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work as a team player.
