About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience in construction management and project engineering within the Oil, Gas, and Chemical market. You will work on complex engineering, procurement, and construction projects. You will participate in field operations, including project controls, craft management, safety, and estimating. This position is designed for students interested in a career in construction.
What you'll do#
- Perform engineering tasks using standard techniques and resolve technical problems during construction.
- Handle operational planning, project scheduling, and quantity tracking.
- Maintain records for job progress, costs, and material usage.
- Coordinate with suppliers to manage, track, and expedite material procurement.
- Review plans and specifications to determine material requirements.
- Assist in execution planning for job segments and support project management with task closeout.
- Investigate reported incidents and recommend solutions.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of an undergraduate or graduate degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field.
- Ability to work full-time during the summer, typically from May through August.
- Strong work ethic, organization, and attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and a commitment to ethics and integrity.
- A strong focus on safety.
