About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern at Kroger, you will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to support pharmacy operations and provide quality care to our customers. This role involves direct interaction with patients, prescribers, and insurance providers to ensure accurate medication dispensing and service.
What you'll do#
- Promote trust and respect among associates and create a welcoming environment for customers.
- Answer questions about products and provide drug counseling.
- Assist with over the counter medication recommendations.
- Input patient and prescription information into the pharmacy computer system.
- Dispense medications and accept oral or written prescriptions.
- Contact prescribers for authorization and communicate with insurance companies.
- Facilitate customer purchases and bag prescriptions.
- Provide immunizations under the supervision of a pharmacist.
- Maintain the pharmacy department, including cleaning and stocking incoming orders.
- Notify management of accidents or incidents and report safety risks or illegal activity.
- Manage conflict in a reasonable manner and follow directions while seeking assistance when needed.
- Provide support to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in a US school of pharmacy.
- A current state issued Pharmacy Intern license.
- Ability to work cooperatively in a high paced environment.
- Commitment to acting with honesty and integrity.
