About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will support our pharmacy operations by providing essential patient care and maintaining efficient department workflows. This role offers hands-on experience in a retail pharmacy setting, focusing on accuracy, customer service, and clinical support under the guidance of our pharmacists.
What you'll do#
- Provide drug counseling to customers and assist with over-the-counter medication recommendations.
- Accurately input patient and prescription data into the pharmacy computer system.
- Dispense correct medications and process insurance information.
- Contact prescribers' offices for necessary authorizations.
- Administer immunizations under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
- Maintain pharmacy cleanliness, stock inventory, and manage order arrivals.
- Handle customer interactions with care, including support for older adults and individuals with special needs.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in a United States school of pharmacy.
- A current, state-issued Pharmacy Intern license.
- The ability to work cooperatively in a high-paced environment.
- Strong conflict management skills, with the ability to remain nonconfrontational and professional.
- A commitment to honesty, integrity, and safety in all business and patient interactions.
