About the role#
This is a 12-week immersive internship program running from January 11 to April 23, 2027. Interns work under the guidance of project managers and construction managers to support capital projects and facility engineering tasks. You will gain hands-on experience while contributing to real-world construction and renovation projects.
What you'll do#
- Assist project managers with essential job functions, including pre-remodel checklists and fixture or refrigeration drawings.
- Support the contractor bid process and participate in weekly project meetings.
- Manage the preparation, tracking, and delivery scheduling of equipment orders to align with construction timelines.
- Oversee store fixture installations and assist with project closeout tasks such as punch lists, as-builts, final invoicing, and filing.
- Inspect capital projects for quality control and compliance with specifications.
- Coordinate reviews of refrigeration, electrical, and mechanical plans with technical staff.
- Review architecture plans and proposed change orders for accuracy and compliance.
- Participate in department meetings and huddles.
- Complete a cumulative project summarizing your internship accomplishments for presentation to management.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited college or university pursuing a degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management.
- A preferred GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Prior experience in a construction environment.
- High motivation and the ability to take initiative on assigned work.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present information to various levels of the organization.
- Ability to work effectively in groups or independently while maintaining attention to detail.
- Work authorization in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship.
